Event Sanctioning

BOCCIA AUSTRALIA

Australian Domestic Competition

Boccia Australia’s goal is to see an incremental growth in the number of athletes, coaches, and ramp operators across our pathway. To achieve this, we need to ensure that our pathway is strong, is resourced and has systems in place for success.  The key driver is our strategic plan which identifies our ambitions as:

  • “Our Boccia experiences are well organised, fun & inclusive”
  • “Australia recognises Boccia as our most inclusive sport”
  • “Our athletes are well prepared for competitions”

….with priorities and aspirations to help us achieve this and some specific actions for an outcome to - increase the number of domestic Boccia competitions. Competition is a vital part of the performance pathway, so we want to be able to provide a domestic calendar of events at club, state and national level that provides a balanced opportunity for players at all levels to compete.

In 2024 Boccia Australia are requesting all organisations (Clubs, Programs, State Organisations) to submit an application for BA sanctioning to run your event. This will enable BA to provide a structured calendar of events. It will also allow us to provide other participation, pathway and performance activations, activities and events that will coincide with or run before/after a competition. (ie: Coach Workshops & PD, Come & Try day, Talent ID days, Camps etc).  And allow for competition prior to international events and further support our What it takes to win strategy.
